Calcined Petroleum Coke: Key Carbon Raw Material for Metallurgy
Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) is a high-purity carbon product processed by heating green petroleum coke (raw petroleum coke) to 1200¨C1350℃ in rotary kilns or shaft furnaces. This calcination removes moisture, volatile matter, and impurities, resulting in high carbon content (¡Ý98%), low ash/sulfur, and enhanced thermal stability.
Widely used as a core raw material in electrolytic aluminum production (for manufacturing prebaked anodes), it also serves as a carbon additive in steelmaking, casting, and graphite electrode production.
